About Becky
Hey! I’m Becky, a 25-year-old married, mommy that works out of the home. I’m married to my perfect match, Chris. I can not express how the universe has blessed me in bringing Chris and I together. Though we are very different, deep down we have the same core and I really believe that is what holds our family together. We got married on 06.11.06, when I was 19-years-old and seven months pregnant and he was 29-years-old.
I became a mommy when Grayson Rivers was born on 08.16.06 at 3 PM. I had a hospital birth with him and was “traumatized” by having a catheter placed too soon after my epidural. Other than the catheter, my labor and birth were relatively easy. Though it was my first go at parenting, Chris was already a pro (he has 3 sons from a previous relationship). I will admit to being young and naive. I did not breastfeed for very long, though I did pump quite a bit at first. I also made other rookie mistakes, but in the end they are just liner notes.
Since Grayson’s birth I have done a lot of research on all sorts of crunchy and semi-crunchy topics. When we decided to get pregnant and I finally did in September 2010 (9 months after IUD removal), I decided I wanted to try my hand at a natural, medication free hospital birth. I also decided that I would be a breastfeeding, cloth-diapering, co-sleeping, baby-wearing kind of mom. Even though I don’t do all of those things full time, I do them with a passion and still consider myself semi-crunchy. After mourning the loss of both my parents this year, our first and only princess was born. Callie Astrid was born free at 2:16 AM on 05.23. My labor lasted a whopping 20-ish minutes and in one push our little girl was in Daddy’s hands and into my arms. When I was in my darkest spot, Callie came and proved that I can do anything.
I have recently gotten the Essure procedure done, so the only way our family will grow is in love and memories. I have the rest of my life to love and create memories with my family!
