Linas Garden – Recycled Container Sprouts
Its too soon to be putting plants outside up here in Alaska. We still dip below freezing at night but that all magical mid May mark of being safe is coming up here soon!! To prepare for it, we started seedlings. Chances are, ill kill them, but hey we can give it the old college try!
This year, money is really tight, so i decided to do some recycled containers as sprouting tubs rather then buy little dirt pellets or itty bitty pots.
First up, Ye old Milk Jug.
Cut off the top Like so
This is one my son planted a week ago, with a baby in it!
Next on the chop in half block! Ye old empty juice jug. Normally i save these and milk jugs and fill them with water to store in the garage in case of emergencies, But they work great for starter pots too!
Now lets get REALLY creative and MAKE some starter pots. I used paper bags, but newspaper works GREAT too!! Scissors a can ( to use over and over ) and tape. I used lime green duct tape because its all i have haha.
